HMRS Summer School Day 1

The day dawned bright and sunny, ready to usher in a new generation of Hawk Mountain Rangers. Approximately 140 students arrived at Hawk Mountain Ranger School to begin a nine-day-long journey in training, discipline, and teamwork.

After sign-in, area set-up, opening formation, and the initial briefings, students launched straight into their training. They learned things such as the basics of survival, proper gear, and the history of the Ranger program. They also gathered together to learn the proper techniques to use on the obstacle course, which they will run through each morning until they depart on the field training exercise.

Toward the end of the day, students looked tired, but ready for the challenge that awaits them in the upcoming days.
