Capt Rachel Scheller joined Civil Air Patrol in 2011 and soon began helping out around Hawk Mountain as a support staff cadet for several years, including kitchen staff and public affairs, before going through the Ranger Staff Training program and serving as squadron line staff. Upon aging out of the cadet program, Capt Scheller transitioned back into public affairs and also supported the staff training program.

Off the Mountain, she enjoys the multi-gig life working as the project manager for her favorite nonprofit, community manager for the Young Writer's Workshop, and as a freelance editor. She is an author who is midway through publishing her first series, drawing upon her experiences at Hawk Mountain and as an EMT to make her action/adventure stories feel realistic and impactful.
