ADVANCED RANGER COURSE

DESCRIPTION

Cadets returning for the second year will learn advanced rescue techniques, land search theory, air to ground coordination, and advanced navigation skills. Cadets will also learn the leadership skills necessary to begin Ground Team Leader training. Cadets will have an opportunity to rappel on our 60+ foot tower.  The skills learned will be evaluated and tested during a 3 day mission with real world scenarios and perform realistic rescues on Hawk Mountain away from base camp, Students will train through the Ranger 1st Class and GTM1 level.

An interview, a written test, and a physical fitness test will be conducted by our staff prior to acceptance.

Target Graduation Qualifications:  Ground Team Member 1, Ranger First Class

REQUIREMENTS
  • GTM 3 and 2 complete

  • IS 100 & 700

  • ICUT Online Training Complete (E-Services)

  • First Aid Complete

  • MRO complete

  • ​CAPT 117 Part 1 & 3

  • R-2 Qualified (Highly recommended)

  • Previous Summer School (Highly recommended)

  • If the students has no previous summer school, he or she must have all other prerequisites and a letter of recommendation from their squadron commander.

  • Physical Category 1 (in accordance with CAPP 60-50)

  • Completion of Encampment (Cadets)

  • Minimum 14 years of age

  • Completion of Cadet Protection Training (Students over 18)

  • Completion of C/SSgt (Cadet) or Level 1 (Seniors)

ADDITIONAL NOTES
  • Course Fee includes food and some safety equipment 
  • Apply for this course under “Hawk Mountain Ranger School Full Week Course ” in eServices Registration Zone.
  • A supplemental application is required.
